The upper GI endoscopy uses a long, thin tube with a light and camera to investigate the upper part of the gastrointestinal tract, including the stomach, the duodenum (the first part of the small intestine), and the esophagus. With the help of the tube and camera, we are able to expertly guide the scope during the procedure and take pictures if necessary to evaluate and diagnose related problems.

If we spot anything questionable, we can remove a polyp or take a tissue sample in order to perform a more in-depth investigation.
